Position: Operator / Trainee Operator - Cable Manufacturing

Job Responsibilities 

• Operate assigned machinery and equipment safely and efficiently in line with company Standard Operating Procedures, processes, standards and instructions and with lean principles
• Implement all relevant HSE policies, procedures & guidelines.
• Participate in Emergency Response duties as a team member, as applicable.
• Participate in risk assessments with team members, as applicable.
• Provide input for the preparation of method statements and initiate any near-miss reports or incidents.
• Prepare various quality checklists for management to support quality programs.
• Actively gathering and documenting specific data for a study or monitoring, as advised by engineers/supervisors/management.
• Implement 5S principles to keep the work environment clean and tidy before, during and after executing the job
• Participate in lean manufacturing initiatives for innovation and continuous improvement
• Set up and run the machine efficiently to specified specifications to product the required output
• Monitor the machine condition and performance and report to the Supervisor any deviations to achieve required efficiency and output

Job requirements

• Secondary School Certificate plus a relevant technical trade certificate (2 -3 year degree)
• Operational skills, good communication, physically able, time management, relevant knowledge in SAP is an advantage.
• 4 or more years of relevant experience in machinery and across multiple equipment, within a large industrial plant, preferably in the Cable industry
