Job Responsibilities: - Initiate evaluation and re-evaluation of prospective suppliers in accordance with company procedures.
- Maintain and update the Approved Suppliers Register, including proper documentation and backups.
- Monitor and assess the performance of approved suppliers to ensure quality, reliability, and compliance.
- Provide feedback to the Quality Department regarding supplier performance and non conforming services or materials.
- Process purchase requisitions and ensure accurate entry into the procurement system.
- Source materials and services in line with technical specifications and company requirements.
- Ensure purchase orders are placed and delivered within the shortest possible lead time.
- Coordinate closely with requisitioners and keep them informed of any delays or supply setbacks.
Job Requirements - Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field (preferred).
- Previous experience in procurement, preferably within marine, ship repair, or industrial sectors.
- Strong understanding of technical procurement requirements related to ship repair and marine operations.
- Familiarity with UAE Ports import/export regulations is an advantage.
- Ability to interpret technical specifications and purchase requirements.
- Knowledge of procurement systems and documentation control practices.
- Understanding of supplier evaluation and performance monitoring processes.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to prioritize workload and manage multiple purchase requests.
- Analytical and problem-solving capability.
- High attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and documentation.
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
