Job Overview
The Regional Financial Controller is the regional owner of the accounting and financial control function for all company's entities in the MECA region. The role consolidates and controls the books of multiple country entities operating in different currencies, tax regimes and regulatory environments, and is accountable for the accuracy, timeliness and auditability of the region's financial records. The jobholder is equally accountable for the liquidity and financial health of the entities in scope — knowing the cash position of every bank account at any time, protecting the region's ability to meet its obligations as they fall due, and giving regional management an early and honest read on the financial condition of each country business.
Job Responsibilities:
Multi-Country Accounting Ownership
- Enforce a single regional close calendar so that all country entities close on the same timetable and submit a complete, reconciled trial balance to the region.
- Apply group accounting policies and the group chart of accounts consistently across all entities; identify and correct local deviations
Intercompany and Multi-Currency Control- Control multi-currency accounting across AED, USD, EUR, QAR, SAR and other transaction currencies — correct rate application, revaluation of monetary balances, and analysis of realised and unrealised FX differences.
- Monitor FX exposure arising from freight billing and vendor settlement in currencies other than the entity's functional currency, and report material exposures.
Cash, Treasury and Financial Health- Maintain daily visibility of the cash and bank position of every entity and every account in the region, by currency, and report the consolidated regional position to management.
- Prepare and maintain rolling cash flow forecasts (weekly short-term and monthly medium-term) per entity and for the region, and explain variances against actual.
- Ensure every entity holds sufficient liquidity to meet payroll, supplier and carrier payments, customs and duty obligations, rent, and statutory and tax liabilities as they fall due — and escalate any projected shortfall well before it arises.
- Alert regional management early to any deterioration in cash generation, margin, receivables quality or cost base, together with a recommended course of action
- Deliver monthly, quarterly and annual reporting packs per entity and consolidated for the region, within the group reporting deadline.
• Provide management reporting and variance analysis against budget and prior period, with commentary that explains the operational drivers, not only the figures.
Tax, Statutory and Audit Compliance- Ensure timely and accurate of tax returns in each jurisdiction, and reconciliation of tax accounts to the ledgers.
- Maintain transfer pricing documentation and ensure intercompany charges are supported and consistently applied.
- Coordinate external, internal and group audits across the region: prepare schedules, respond to queries, and close audit findings within agreed deadlines

• Proven multi-currency accounting experience, including revaluation and FX difference analysis.
• Demonstrated ownership of cash flow forecasting, bank and facility management, and working capital control for an operating business.
