Manufacturing Engineer - Emirati


Position: Manufacturing Engineer - UAE national  
Job Location: Dubai 
Exp: 4 – 6 years of relevant professional experience in process, production and industrial engineering in the manufacturing industry, preferably in an ERP environment using SAP as an advanced user    
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering with good knowledge of statistical software such as Minitab.  A Green belt in Six Sigma and exposure to the advanced level to Kaizen, Process Re-engineering and Lean Manufacturing

Job responsibilities: 
  • Measure, analyze, plan and control plant processes by defining Standard Operating Procedures and conduct process trials and improvement projects to achieve continual improvement in productivity, product quality and process capability.
  • Prepare machinery commissioning reports to document the history and experience gained during commissioning for future reference
  • Generate a monthly report for Management on outputs, quality faults, safety and 5S status for production teams to assist in periodical reviews
  • Plan, assess and determine the requirements for new machinery and equipment to meet performance objectives and productivity standards
  • Prepare, review and recommend changes in machine operating instructions and process specifications for all existing and new machines on the site, in accordance with  QEMS and ISO standards to maintain consistency or improve process performance
  • Conduct process audits in plant in order to ensure conformance of machines and materials to company's quality standards
  • Follow up outstanding issues on machinery performance with the machinery vendors for corrective action
  • Work with team members to identify deviations or errors in product quality and find solutions for preventive or corrective action.  Conduct cause analysis to eliminate faults.
  • Select and inspect new plant machinery and equipment and assist machinery vendors in commissioning, refurbishing, repair or upgrade of existing machinery to enhance production capacity or process capability
  • Study, investigate and analyze process problems, root causes and work with process engineers to resolve these problems
  • Conduct process trials on raw materials, new products or new methods to approve new processes or materials for future use
  • Provide input to NPD and the Technical team on manufacturing feasibility of new products
  • Maintain SAP PP Master data and validation of new materials to provide information for costing purposes
  • Conduct audits to ensure shop floor employees are entering SAP data correctly
  • Monitor and measure cable scrap into planned and unplanned categories in order to control the level of scrap and achieve cost reduction targets
