Position: Assistant Financial Controller

Purpose of the role:
The Assistant Financial Controller is responsible for overseeing comprehensive financial reporting across multiple legal entities and geographies. This includes month-end and year-end closing processes with financial statements, VAT and corporate tax compliance and filing, financial analysis, audit support, and the implementation of internal controls. The role also involves driving process improvements, and handling ad-hoc projects. The Assistant Financial Controller works collaboratively with other members of the finance team to ensure the successful completion of all financial tasks.
Key Areas of Responsibilities:
Verifying and Posting of all financial entries in financial module SAGE, MS Dynamics and Microsys.
Ensuring that the revenue and expenses are posted in correct general ledger codes.
Responsible for timely closing the books of account and submitting the consolidated financial statements to the Director
Closing the sales and cost of sales of each month to report the Sales and Gross profit
Reviewing and reconciling general ledger and preparing all account schedules supporting income statement and balance sheet.
Responsible for taking the lead of the finance team to help and guide them in closing the books on time.
Act as helping hand to the teammates and take charge of subordinates in case of vacation or absence to complete the regular and unavoidable task.
Ensuring VAT input and VAT output are recorded accurately, and VAT returns are timely filed.
Ensure corporate tax working and filing to be performed on a timely basis
Assist Finance Director in routine and ad-hoc financial reporting and analysis.
Preparation of actual cash flow with the help of Accounts Receivables Executive and Accounts Payable Executive
Verification and sign off all the payment vouchers before approval by Financial Director.
Verification and processing of customer refunds.
Act as a business partner for the internal stakeholders for constant process improvements to reduce redundancy and reduce turnover time in the company while maintaining internal controls.
Professional Requirements:
· Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or equivalent
· Qualified Professional Accountant – CA/ ACCA or equivalent
· At least 2 years of experience in a supervisory role within the GCC region
· Excellent verbal and written skills (English mandatory; Urdu/ Hindi/ Malayalam desirable)
· Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and ERP systems (MS Dynamics, SAGE)
· Team player with strong interpersonal, writing and presentation skills
